Indonesia to Use Palm Oil Levy to Subsidize Fuel for Fishing Vessels

Indonesia will subsidize diesel fuel for midsize fishing vessels (between 30 and 200 gross tons) using funds collected from palm oil and cocoa export levies. As of May-26, the plantation fund agency has collected IDR 17.4 tn in levies, nearly 65% of its 2026 target, which is deemed sufficient to finance this initiative alongside the IDR 32.3 tn allocated for this year's biodiesel mandate, smallholder replanting, and other supporting programs.
