Indonesia’s govt. debt reached IDR 10,293.69 tn as of Jun-26, up 3.76% from IDR 9,920.42 tn in Mar-26, equivalent to 41.26% of GDP. The govt. stated that the debt-to-GDP ratio remained well below the 60% legal threshold and planned to contain the fiscal deficit while improving tax collection. SBN accounted for 87.11% of total debt at IDR 8,966.79 tn, while loans stood at IDR 1,326.90 tn. (Bloomberg Technoz)

President Prabowo Subianto proposed Solikin M. Juhro and M. Anwar Bashori as candidates for BI Deputy Governor, with the DPR set to process the nominations after its session opens on 14 Aug-26. Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) Opened Possibility for BI and Danantara to Become Shareholders 
BEI opened the possibility for Kemenkeu, BI, and Danantara to become shareholders through its planned demutualization, following Law No. 4/2026 on amendments to the P2SK Law. BEI has also received interest from potential investors to invest in the exchange, while the demutualization plan remains at the discussion stage and has not yet been decided by shareholders. Ukraine Drone Attack Damaged Grain Terminals at Russia’s Novorossiysk Port 
Three grain terminals at Russia’s Black Sea port of Novorossiysk were damaged in an overnight Ukrainian drone attack, raising concerns over disruptions to Russian wheat exports. Russia and Ukraine together account for more than 25% of global wheat exports, making any prolonged disruption to Black Sea grain infrastructure a potential upside risk to global wheat prices.
